Announcing Our 3rd Annual Global Give Scholarship Winner

We understand the power education has in a person’s life, which is why we are proud to support organizations that make this a more accessible possibility for children and young adults around the world. Our partners believe in children, and we stand with them in their efforts towards building a better and brighter future. Our partnership with Athena Study Abroad is particularly special to us because we get to make education a possibility for more students each year!

The Annual Scholarship Award

Each year, Athena Study Abroad accepts contributions from our peers in International Education at the annual NAFSA Conference through their Global Give Fundraiser. We are excited to be awarding a $500 scholarship for a student in the Philippines for the 2019-2020 academic school year. Check out our first and second year awardees too!

Our Third Scholarship Awardee

We are thrilled to announce Betty as our 2018 scholarship winner! Betty is currently in her first year as a university student; she is studying for her Bachelor of Science Major in Accountancy at the Eastern Visayans State University (EVSU). Her thoughtful application responses truly showed her passion for learning, her love for her family, and her excitement for the future.

Education is our great treasure that you can experience and the only weapon that no one can ever steal from you.

Betty is devoted to serving her family and her community since they played such a vital role in her becoming who she is today. She recognizes the importance education holds to opening doors to opportunity. She takes great pride in her studies and is grateful for the chance to continue to study what she is passionate about. When asked about the role empathy plays in education and today’s world, Betty said,

Empathy is indeed a great means to start a movement of showing that there is the possibility of moving in the right direction.

She hopes to lead in this direction as she continues her education, her devotion to her family, and her support for her community. Please join us in congratulating Betty in the comments below and send your best wishes for her success this year, and beyond!
