The Baale Mane Gopalapura

The Baale Mane Gopalapura is a home for disadvantaged girls and young women in India. Its’ founding dates back to 2001, when it was established by the Paraspara Trust, an NGO dedicated to the protection of young girls living on the streets in India. By 2007, The Friends of Baale Mane Trust was formalized in the UK, which allowed the home to expand and build a strong foundation to support more girls for the long-term. Today, Baale Mane is registered under the Indian Trusts Act and supports over 60 young girls and women through their permanent home in the Gopalapura Village.

The Baale Mission

Located not far from the bustling streets of Bangalore, The Baale Mane is dedicated to supporting all the girls and young women mentally, physically, and academically. As the girls learn and grow through their support, they ensure each girl has the tools and resources she needs to succeed in her education and beyond. The Baale Mane believes that education is the key to breaking barriers and giving all girls the opportunity to live an empowered life.

Projects We Supported

What began as a one time donation to purchase new clothes for the Baale girls who were starting their university studies has developed into a lovely partnership. The GoAbroad Foundation expanded support for Baale Mane most significantly in 2017, when we joined in their Campus Expansion Fundraiser, aimed at providing the Baale girls with even more space to live, learn, and grow. As of 2018 the GoAbroad Foundation no longer actively supports Baale Mane, but we remain believers in their mission!
