Community Relief & Development Action (COREDA)
Beneficiary Organization Partner
Community Relief & Development Action (COREDA) was founded in 2009 as an informal volunteer group dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged populations in Cameroon. Today, it is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization focused on alleviating poverty through community development initiatives, education and livelihood programs, and environmental protection.
COREDA Continues to Prioritize Education
Despite all the challenges, COREDA is making progress one step at a time. They have continued to work on their school construction project throughout the pandemic, and they were even able to resume classes hosted in their new facilities in October 2020. They even had their first batch of graduates in June 2021.
Although they have already had elementary students enrolled and have been operating, they are expecting at least 300 new children in the coming school year, so their needs remain significant.
Creating Educational Opportunities Amid a Pandemic
COREDA’s educational program was born from a passion to create educational opportunities for orphans, vulnerable, and internally displaced children. With this vision and the help of numerous people with generous hearts, COREDA was able to successfully erect a school building to provide more educational opportunities in Cameroon.
