The Next Chapter of Our Annual Scholarship Program

Education has the power to change the course of history for individuals, families, and communities. With education comes learning, growth, and the opportunity to have a more bright and prosperous future. This is why we are dedicated to supporting global education initiatives because we believe a more educated generation of children has the power to change our world. Through our partnership with Athena Study Abroad, we are making education possible for more students each year.

Our Annual Scholarship Award

Once again, thanks to numerous contributions from international educators at the NAFSA conference in Los Angeles, California in May 2017, through Athena Study Abroad’s Global Give Fundraiser, as well as donations made through Athena’s S.O.S. program (a program that allows students to give back upon their return from international programs), we are happy to announce that we have been able to provide over $1000 USD in scholarships to students in the Philippines for the 2018-2019 academic school year.

In addition to continuing our support of James Ronald, the scholar who was awarded with our very first Global Give Scholarship last year, we are eager to share more about this year’s winner.

Our 2nd Global Give Scholarship Awardee

We are excited to share that Jerlyn Mae, who is a third-year student at Normal Leyte University pursuing a degree in elementary education, is our second awardee! She submitted a touching application letter, expressing her desire to open her mind to the world through education and gain the tools needed to also broaden the minds of others. We heard you loud and clear Jerlyn Mae, and we are so happy to support you in your educational endeavors!

I really want to impart my knowledge and education to children.  I want them to look forward to a brighter future.

Driven by her desire to help children in her community, Jerlyn Maes has illustrated a passion for learning about the world at large, using her education to educate others, and turn her career into an opportunity to make the world a better place, all values that we support with great pride!  She looks at education as a foundation pillar for humanity to grow and prosper, and we couldn’t agree with her more.

Education molds us to be a good and responsible citizen of our country and the world.

We are ecstatic to support Jerlyn Mae in her ongoing studies and look forward to seeing her graduate in 2019. Please join us in congratulating Jerlyn Mae in the comments below by sending your best wishes for her success this year, and beyond!
