The Real Uganda

Beneficiary Organization Partner

Founded in 2005, The Real Uganda is a grassroots nonprofit organization based in the heart of Uganda. The Real Uganda was founded to inspire and support community-led initiatives, while also giving international volunteers the opportunity to experience Uganda in all its glory. The Real Uganda’s Mission

The Real Uganda mission is to provide support for local schools and community-based organizations that would otherwise lack the capacity to maintain their programs or provide essential services to community members. Through The Real Uganda’s hands-on work with these organizations, they are able to grow and become self-sustainable, while also sharing life in Uganda with international volunteers.

Our Partnership History

The GoAbroad Foundation visited The Real Uganda in October 2017, which gave us the incredible opportunity to meet Leslie and learn more about the ways The Real Uganda is changing local communities. Since then, we’ve begun supporting two of their incredible programs.

As our relationship grows, we are eager to support The Real Uganda in even more ways. If you are interested in volunteering in Uganda, consider working with The Real Uganda to make the most of the experience.
