We’re pleased to introduce one of our newest partners, and our first partner in Cameroon, Refugee Welfare Association Cameroon (REWAC). Established in 2009, REWAC is dedicated to helping the 400,000+ refugees that end up trapped or passing through Cameroon. In addition to providing direct support, REWAC also helps to raise awareness about the issues facing refugees in Cameroon, backed by legal expertise and a passion for long-term change.

How Our Partnership Began
Upon launching our Give Together Program in 2019, Refugee Welfare Association of Cameroon impressed the GoAbroad Foundation team with their application, due to their unique mission and our desire to support refugee causes worldwide. After our first call with Justice Mukete, the founder of REWAC, we were in awe of his passion for advocating for vulnerable populations. Within a few weeks, REWAC was officially a Give Together Beneficiary Organization partner, and we began helping them develop a volunteer program to expand the reach of their mission. Unfortunately due to the COVID-19 pandemic, plans for accepting international volunteers are on hold, but REWAC remains entirely dedicated to their mission.
Refugee Welfare Association Cameroon’s Mission
REWAC is dedicated to helping vulnerable immigrants and refugees in Cameroon through essential livelihood programs and relief distributions, in addition to legal assistance and advice necessary for them to settle safely in Cameroon or move on to another country.
What REWAC Projects Are in Need of Support?
Although all of REWAC’s programs have immense needs amidst the current global climate and regional challenges, the very first project launched through our partnership is aimed at providing food distributions to dozens of needy families. The Food Distribution targets the most vulnerable families and offers them food packs twice annually. Learn more about the program by clicking on the button below.
